Fireflies

I'd say this qualifies as a speedpaint - I did it in under 2 hours, the night before last. I've puttered with it a tiny bit since, but only enough to add a bit of pink to the cheeks and slap a signature in. ^^

And yeah, yeah, I know I must be the last person in the entire intarwebs to discover Owl City. Shut up.

BUT BUT OMG I AM IN LOOOOOVE. ~satalderihannsu sent me an mp3 of Fireflies, and I think I looped it about 14 times, then promptly went and found everything else I could. This isn't quite what I *picture* when I listen to the song, but it is what I *feel*, if that makes any sense at all. It feels like flying, like joy so strong it hurts.

I've been going though a bit of a crisis of artistic identity lately, so it felt really good to sit down and paint this. It feels like it's about something, and I want more of that in my work.
